Main website disabled
I am no longer able to support the main website, as the CAPTCHA has been defeated by botnets and is spamming registrations, posts and contact emails. (I did ask for assistance--but no takers who actually did anything.) I have taken the main website down. I will continue to maintain the forum for now...

Re: Math as Art
Simon is really on to something here... I have been going through his material over the past year. I would still encourage LB to go here and then register perhaps after mentioning that he knows me. Went there, registered, read a few hundred posts and am not going back--far too bigoted a group for m...

Transhumanism
Openly promoting the great benefits to be gained from transhumanism, although he never labels it as such. For a long time I was quite puzzled by transhumanism... but not, anymore. The upcoming generations, obsessed with drugs, booze, tobacco, anime and video games, will make this a reality--it is a...

Knowing that galaxies are actually solar systems, would it not be appropriate to study the relationship of the Milky Way, Andromeda, the satellite "galaxies" that surround the Milky Way and the satellites of Andromeda ? Because of the scalar recursion that comprises a universe of motion, the planets...

Re: A hidden gem...
I heard this gem of a conversation while switching channels on the TV, i've not even watched any of the film and probably never will, because that film is... I love that film... it's SOOOOO BAD, it actually crosses a unit boundary, inverts, and becomes GOOD! :D It's right up there with Tremors , an...

Re: Western Education
I went to a private, Catholic school (priests and nuns) and learned a great deal. But I suspect that is a generational difference... we WANTED to be successful in life and willfully took the initiative to learn what we could, to find out how we could be successful. I recently heard a interesting and...

Re: Stephen Hawking
The answer is that ((they)) have always wanted life to be more complex than it really is -- to keep those under its spell in a state of perpetual doubt, authoritarian dependence, and self loathing. A powerful combination to maintain control over others they seek to leech life from. They want to rep...

Re: Reboot of The Tomorrow People
But I would still prefer to have a book in a bookshelf which I could read whenever I felt like it than not having it at all. For example, I hated Latin in school but I am interested in the language now. Interests come and go. And these days, in the age of informational regurgitation, good unique co...

Re: Shock Dynamics: The Biblical Flood & Current Earth Configuration
I was reviewing the "stretch marks" and other strange features like the South Sandwich Islands at the tip of South America, which looked to be a bit like the scar of a meteor glancing the earth at an angle, or slipping continental plates: Though there was a meteor-hurling competition between the Ti...

Hopefully, Comcast/Xfinity is done with their cable stuff in this area now. Google came through a while back and installed fiber (Comcast only had cable) and stole most of their customers, and now they are upgrading to get some back. At least it means cheaper prices and higher connections speeds. Th...

Reminds me a bit of that comment Dave Lister made in Red Dwarf, when he thought he was going to die... "I can't die! ...and I've never read... a book!"

A number of the screens in the UCP (User Control Panel) are coming up blank... don't know why yet, but am looking into it. It may have more to do with the last phpBB3 update, than the server crash.

Uncommon Sense
I had a Eureka** moment in the shower the other night. I realized how a person's worldview is influenced by the source of "information input." When I was a kid, it was 95% reading and 5% B&W video (broadcast TV--3 channels), a few hours a week. Now it is 99% video. **Greek for "this bathwater is too...

Can you believe it... I FINALLY get all the bugs worked out of the site and get everything up, and the server loses a fan, overheats and crashes.
Fixed now; at least that is what I was told by the hardware support folks.

Re: Server crash
All the websites should be back up and running normally.
Let me know if you run into any problems, as there are thousands of little things that can go wrong, that never show up on the basic validation tests.

Still having issues with server and websites. Web services crashed today for a while--almost impossible to debug, when the only error it gives you is "service failed to start." Duh, I KNOW that! Antiquatis main site is down, haven't figured out why yet. I think something in the config file became co...

Re: The Outer Limits (1995)
If you like, I can upload the AVI file. I could take a look at it sure. Thanks. I have added it to the library as a "video loan." See: Antiquatis Reference Library for access information. You will have to download it, then watch locally on your computer, as there is not a video player available the...

Since we upgraded the OS with the hard drive replacement, there are still a bunch of problems floating around the websites, most notably the Antiquatis main site, reciprocal.systems and rstheory.org. I am just going to deprecate rstheory.org and redirect it to reciprocalsystem.org, to reduce mainten...

Re: The Outer Limits (1995)
Have you seen the original series, from 1963-1964? The most unsettling show I've EVER seen is from that series, "Wolf 359" (series 2, episode 8; a reference they used in ST-TNG with the Borg). Just thinking about it again gives me goosebumps. It is a classic "suspense" film, which means it is NOT "a...

Re: Honour and Common Sense
That Dilbert cartoon is a riot... but I'll bet nobody "gets it," because you need common sense! One of the things people don't connect is that honesty is derived from honor . One can never expect a dishonorable person to ever deal fairly or honestly--which explains our system of commerce. However, t...
