Re: 2150 AD (Thea Alexander)

But once you realize that recursion is nothing more than a "scalar speed," ... Is it accurate to say that the time-complexity cases (worst, average, best) of an algorithm is defining the upper, middle, and lower bounds of its scalar speeds? What is important is the change between the recursive step...

Re: 2150 AD (Thea Alexander)

We are whole parts in a larger whole that continues on beyond the scope of my current level of apprehension/comprehension as a whole part of something else, itself It's very easy to get caught in recursion, I know I did - and still do sometimes - on a lot of topics, reducing a complex thing to its ...

... its all about repetition, much like advertisements they tend to get stuck in memory, because they play em on repeat. You're talking about the forgetting curve (advertising hijacks it), spaced repetition routines in moderation or re-reading can be important when learning fundamental concepts but...

Antiquatis Education

As a newer member to the forum I'd like to ask for some guidance on where to start. There was an attempt a while ago to serialize the knowledge contained in the forum, an "oral tradition", into some sort of book format or article series. I attempted a similar undertaking myself and even backed up t...

Re: Tier 2 (Spiral Dynamics)

In Tier 1 levels, your psyche is basically a game of politics and diplomacy. This is an excellent observation and is consistent with Jung's that the psyche (a Tier 1 psyche that is) responds well to "deal making" - like foreign diplomacy. Also interesting to note that the Prisoner's Dilemma falls a...

Re: Tier 2 (Spiral Dynamics)

Is there some test to see which Tier one is on currently? One of the key limitations of Tier 1 vMemes, and why they're very ineffective at scale (but work well at small-scale), is that complexes do not "compose" very well across Tier 1 vMemes - there are exceptions and it usually involves reaching ...

Re: DW- Underground cities destroyed

Quick deviation... @LB: have you watched more of the show? While some of the acting is so-so and they love their explosions, it's got a lot of interesting symbolism (I particularly found the plot line with Scorpius being a part of Kryton's psyche very interesting...). Maybe I'll re-watch that show, ...

Blackout 3 weeks ago

Reminders abound. 3 weeks ago, the electricity to about 5 million people (including all city services too, not just residential) went out for a solid 8 hours; this included me! All of San Diego county, Tijuana, Mexicali, Yuma, and other smaller surrounding areas were affected. It was funny for me, h...

Re: Mobile Survival Pack Gear

Yeah, I've used everything - I do plenty of backpacking; parents also sent me on a few survival trips when I was younger (read: 6/7 years ago). I also make a point to use all my tools at least once, in a fashion that would be similar to their need out in the wild. Both my knowledge and my knowledge ...

Mobile Survival Pack Gear

In light of presentiment, I've been compiling (and putting together) a list of necessary gear for "mobile" survival. By mobile I mean anything outside of off-grid sustainable housing/survival solutions (such as an off-grid cabin in the deep woods, or Sanctuary). Right now I'm just compiling it and p...

"Mysterious" force holding back Pioneer 10

Interesting article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/spac ... space.html. Might this be because the spacecraft is slowly approaching unit speed (as it "escapes" the gravity well of Sol)?

Re: Old posts

For some time now I've been working on distilling the knowledge we have generated and accumulated on these forums. I know the forums are bit daunting - there is a lot of stuff to read! Right now it's manifesting as a part of my exposition/treatise on education, self-education, and a generalized holi...

Re: Measures and Motions

It seems complicated, but it really isn't. The RS/RS2 only makes use of ordinary mathematics, of which you are probably better versed in than I am (I'm self-taught, and have had less saturation than I would have in a University setting). The Universe conforms to the relations of ordinary mathematics...

Re: Measures and Motions

In trying to understand t/s and s/t... Think of space and time, the two aspects of motion, as a ratio; that helped me. Also, reading Larson's work added to my conceptual foundations, giving me a clearer view. space = place time = moment I always liked this one the most (in reference to the consciou...

Re: 2012 According to Ra Material and D. Wilcock

Changes at the atomic level will happen to all beings on the Earth (and the Earth itself) and not just to those who are harvested. The Earth will continue to support 1D and 2D life and 4D life is still physical. I understand it to be, not so much of a material change but a transfer of consciousness...

Drawn back here after I met a really interesting person. Dr Rosemary L Matich. You may be interested (if you haven't pursued it further already) in the research and work of Carl Gustav Jung; I didn't watch the video in its entirety but from what I gathered, she discusses the use of art and spiritua...

Re: Earth Quakes and Tornadoes

Reminds me a bit of the missing Minbari souls on Babylon 5, where those souls were incarnating on the Earth (instead of Minbar) for the upcoming battle with the Shadows. Except here we seem to have a net outflux of souls. Maybe there is something to this 2012/harvest stuff, after all? There do appe...

Earth Quakes and Tornadoes

Today, Haiti experienced a second quake at 6.0 on the richter scale. Yesterday a tornado touched down right outside of Los Angeles... One of the Pylons in the Archive looks different to me too, I wonder if anyone else has been experiencing anything odd; I know each night of the big earthquakes in Ha...

I never said I did or did not believe it to be an ICBM test. My thought was conjecture, nothing more; the better question is why you are caring about what I think.

Yes, you're being a bit too pedantic though; my reference was to the "sub-light" engines of Star Trek that are capable of reaching near the speed of light - of which ICBM rockets are not capable.

Re: Norwegian sky spiral

Lol, I was hopping on here to post the same thing. They are "confirming" it as an ICBM spinning out of control from a Russian sub. Looks to be a bit more like a sub-light engine test; not sure whether that would be considered a failure or a success though...

Re: Gay Marriage and Meme-Shift

Gay marriage is a potent mass meme-shift issue, almost entirely green. Green? Isn't "marriage" a religious institution (Blue vMeme, truth force)? I see it as being a growth into the Blue vMeme. Many religious leaders are afraid of gay marriage because they are afraid of their own Animus, embracing ...
