Re: The concept of "Worship"

There appears to be a lot more to prayer and worship than meets the eye. I look at the mass media to see the objects of prayer and worship. I think vampires and "super-heroes" are close to the top of the list. I find that rather disturbing. Most of the super-heroes that I have recently seen movies ...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

I would agree with the assessment that "schooling" does have a doctrine; it is no longer about education but simply training into a social order. But from what I've seen, the upcoming generations ARE fully indoctrinated and don't want any change. They complain a lot about those "in power" but when ...

Re: Antiquatis Institute, Inc.

For the name of the eZine, I would suggest exelixis (Greek word). It means evolution or development and the word's root remind me of the upward spiriling of light which is a phrase used by Ra. I don't have anything against Acuitas. It's just another option.

Re: Imagination

Reminds me of: Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand. or The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled. or Humor is by f...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

I would be curious to know what is "flowing"? To use a Larson analogy, how does the cardboard of a box balance the "flow" between the inside and outside? The nature of cardboard will allow for some things to pass through it. For example, gamma rays will pass through both sides of a cardboard box. T...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

If I understand correctly, Arcelius is treating religion and science as aspects of the spirit (vertical slice--perspective) and Gopi is treating them more like a vMeme or Tier (horizontal slice--tool). Stray too far outside the intersection and the meaning gets lost. It is my hope that the meaning ...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

Well, looks like I have to choose a more air-tight example, because the spirit of the reply is not getting across. When sports and games are seen as unconscious STS (which may well be true, just that it was not the angle I was looking at to clarify my point) then the notion of balance definitely ar...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

A view on this issue only clicked a few minutes back... particularly with your phrase "applied correctly". Consider sports. One will notice that sports and games in general have a good beneficial effect when kids take part in them... prior to the point where they begin to obtain the rudiments of th...

Re: Honor, STS and STO

Well, I wouldn't know about that, since I don't believe it is possible to know about 6th/7th from a 3rd density consciousness--it would be harder than a rock trying to understand ethics. All we could perceive would be very hazy shadows from the 6th and 7th density concepts (probably grossly misinte...

Re: Honor, STS and STO

In common understanding, honor is "doing what is right", STO is "doing what is good" and STS is "doing what is bad." And in this context, the opposite of "right" isn't "wrong"... it is STS/STO. Just as Dewey Larson's "ethical sector" of the Universe is the encompassing aspect of the dichotomy of sp...

Re: Who's Who and What's That

Aquarius and Libra are both Air signs (Gemini is the other Air sign) while Capricorn and Taurus are Earth signs (Virgo is the other Earth sign). Gemini is typically characterized as the most "flighty" of the Air signs. Virgo is typically the least physical of the Earth signs. Using the percentages, ...

Re: Intervention on Criminal Acts

Since the vote is currently split between morals and ethics, I thought this from WiseGeek was interesting: The difference between ethics and morals can seem somewhat arbitrary to many, but there is a basic, albeit subtle, difference. Morals define personal character, while ethics stress a social sys...

Re: Drugging of Americans

One of the questions was asked by my wife as she is interested in medicine: "You have such tremendous development in space ships, etc., have you advanced in medical science?" They answered with just "No." We were amazed and said: "That does not seem right. You have space ships yet you have not adva...

Re: Stargate SG-1

When I think of legendary Merlin, who I know nothing about but some vague things about him being a wizard...I think of an old man...well, a typical wizard cartoonish like, stately and full of honor. Maybe I should read on Merlin a bit more before assuming about him though. You all seem to know alot...

Re: Drugging of Americans

Granted, the body CAN transmute elements into what it needs, but that process consumes energy that may not be available when one is sick or injured. There is an unlimited energy supply available that most people (humans) never tap into. If most people did, then medical science in its various forms ...

Actually I did not ever think of Merlin in saying it or even when he gave me his name upon my asking. I corrected you because it did come across as though you were making fun and calling me a liar. I wanted to clarify it for you that I wasn't having an experience with some wizard weilding a magic s...

Re: Stargate SG-1

Merin seems to be a variant spelling of Marin which means "of the sea". Think of the word marine.

Merlin in its various forms seems to mean "sea fort".

The names are not so different in meaning. Perhaps a name alteration to avoid being laughed at and called a liar  .

All disease with few exception (genetics/env.toxins) are caused by diet and lack of preventative measure. I would say that all disease is basically psychosomatic in origin. This would mean that a part of you "agrees" to have any disease. It also means that you already possess the means to cure any ...

With the overlapping of values, it seems to follow the bell curve of a standard deviation... take "civilized society" as we now understand it. The center of the bell curve sits between blue and orange, so there is about an equal valuing influence on the collective unconscious--about 34% religious a...

When considering age-related patterns, only the biological patterns are repeatable across the human form, as the life units all begin at birth. So, most men will reach puberty around the same age, etc. Age-related patterns based on VALUES are subject to the age of the Soul, not the body. The body i...

True, however, that is under the assumption that a correct "examination" is possible, by the person at the time. I wholly agree that evaluating and examining things is absolutely necessary just as one develops those faculties, and halting it or curtailing it would cause harm. I am speaking of thing...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

Both the child and the adult benefit from this, the child inculcates habits which serve it in good stead later on, while the adult is inspired to guide correctly. Now if the same system of thought is applied to someone ten years later, and one is asked to obey without question, and give respect, it...

Re: The concept of "Worship"

Gopi and I were chatting last night about the concept of "worship," and why such a concept exists. It is a key part of STS behavior, even when STS is disguised as STO through priests, politicians, gurus and new-agers. But it appears to be more than simple ego-inflation. I'm not so sure that the STS...

Re: The Law of nOne

I got into an interesting philosophical debate last night with some proponents of the "Law of One" (not the Elkins-Rueckert interpretation) whom wanted to recruit me to their cause. They look at "One" in a very, shall I say, "single-minded" fashion, where the unity associated with one-ness is repre...
