Will the Lakotas recuperate their Land?

Post by cointreau » Tue Dec 25, 2007 7:24 pm

Since 1974 the Lakotas have been fighting to break away from the treaties signed over a 150 years ago that made their territories of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming part of the union (USA). I was excited to read that the Lakotas a few days ago (DEC 19) started to movilize to embassies from different countries with strong indigenous presence (such as Bolivia and Venezuela)in order to have their new independent nation recognized. If they are succesful, I wonder if Lone Bear would relinquish his US citizenship and stay in Wyoming as a member of the new Lakota nation!!!!

Interstingly enough it is not the Bolivian or the Venezuelan Embassy who will act first but the Russians!!! who are thinking about endorsing the Lakota nation as retaliation since the US will reconize the Kosovo region as an independent country, an action that according to Putin will create Havoc in the Balkans.
