Wolfram Alpha API

The Central Information system is envisioned at a repository of information and experience, from library books for general reading, a computer database to map topics and indices of the materials available, and interactive computer programs and instructional video “how-to's” to relate what we have learned, in sufficient detail that the system can almost become self-instructive.

Wolfram Alpha API

Recently, the Wolfram Alpha API has been opened up. It requires registration and a subscription plan, so this isn't something that would be considered till an offshoot business venture selling or serving Central Information software/data came into existence.

It does, however, open up access to a large set of "general purpose" knowledge that may be useful to integrate with the Central Information system down the road. Creating "general purpose" or "common sense" ontologies (including the reasoners) is no small undertaking; heck, even Central Information's goal is no small undertaking (being an ontology and reasoning engine for RS2/Ancient knowledge).

Just a thought I wanted to archive on the forums, so, down the road when CI is more mature this can be brought up for discussion.
